Working on the Farm
- What type of work will I be doing?
- Planting and harvesting of vegetables
- Vegetable maintenance (like weeding, soil preparation)
- General farm duties
- What hours will I work?
- The average working week during cooler periods is 7.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday (about 6 hrs/day)
- Hours may change depending on seasonal peaks and weather conditions
- What do I need to bring with me?
- Hat, sunscreen, gloves, working shoes, fly net, long sleeved, insect repellant, shirts, working clothes
- All bedding will be provided
- What is the weather like?
- The weather will vary depending on the season. Information about the expected seasonal conditions can be found on the Weatherzone website
Transport
- How do I get to the farm?
- If you have your own transport: Find the address and a map on our Contact Us page
- If you don’t have your own transport: We will arrange to pick you up from Midland Train Station. Our details can be found on the Contact Us page
- How do I get to and from the City, from the Farm?
- If you would like to go on a day trip to the city, we will provide transport to and from the farm on Saturdays
- At the time of your stay there may be other WOOFers with their own cars, see if you can arrange times to go togethe
Accommodation
- Where will I be staying?
- You will be living with the other WOOFers in a 3 bedroom self contained house
- The accommodation includes a communal kitchen, living area, laundry and 3 bathrooms
- What will my daily tasks include?
- When you arrive, we will create a roster that will tell you what your daily duties are. These will include keeping your accommodation clean, cooking and chopping wood for the hot water system.
